Keeping participants safe during workshops and support

This policy explains how Lokka helps keep participants safe during workshops, how concerns are handled, and how behaviour is managed for all participants, including vulnerable participants.

Version 1.01 Workshop safety

Our Commitment

Lokka aims to provide a respectful, practical and safe training environment for participants.

Participants should be treated with dignity and without discrimination.
Workshops should be delivered in a way that reduces avoidable risk.
Concerns should be taken seriously and responded to promptly.

Who This Applies To

This policy applies to Lokka workshop participants, staff, trainers, guests and anyone involved in delivering support.

It covers in-person bootcamps, monthly support sessions and related communication.
It also covers Job Sprint Plus support where applicant information or wellbeing concerns are raised.

Raising Concerns

If someone is worried about a participant's safety, wellbeing, behaviour or treatment, they should contact Lokka as soon as possible.

Email hello@lokka.uk with safeguarding details where it is safe to do so.
Call 0330 043 5167 for urgent programme concerns during working hours.
Where someone is at immediate risk of harm, emergency services should be contacted first.

Behaviour and Participation

Lokka may step in where behaviour creates risk or disrupts other participants.

Discrimination, harassment, threats, intimidation or unsafe conduct are not acceptable.
Lokka may pause, rearrange or end participation where needed to protect people or delivery.
Confidential information should only be shared with people who need it to respond appropriately.

Records and Escalation

Lokka may keep a proportionate record of safeguarding concerns, actions taken and follow-up decisions. Where a concern involves a vulnerable participant, criminal risk or serious harm, Lokka may escalate to appropriate support services, statutory bodies or emergency services.
